Preschool Newsletter Dear Parents, Thank you to all parents who joined our field trip at UNLV. We could have not done it without your help. We truly appreciate your cooperation and support to our school's activities. Our theme for the month of February is Transportation. Our class will be learning the modes of transport which includes air, water, and land. It will be nice if you can send airplane toys, ship/boat toys, car toys for show and share. This will help us in our discussion of transportation. In Cultural area we will celebrate the “Chinese New Year”. Mrs. JJ Liu Alspach is our parent volunteer for Chinese New Year. In Math, the 100 board will be introduced. In Language, we will continue with our phonetic sounds and three letter words. We have acquired new materials for our “easy reading” activities and we are so excited to use them. Our Artist of the Month is Pablo Picasso. We are so proud of our children's artwork based on Joan Miro's style. For Valentines Celebration, we will make a “Heart Box” project. Please send a child's shoebox. Your child will decorate his/her own heart box and we will use this to put all the valentines exchange they will receive from their classmates. Our Valentine’s exchange could be anything that is heart shaped. Thank you to Kim Kirshner, Isabella's month for this wonderful suggestion. Our class would also like to thank Falana White, Mia's mom for coming to our class to teach the solar system. Thank you Dr. Deana Young for continuously helping in our classroom. GONG I FA CAI! (Happy New Year in Cantonese) Have a Very Sweet Valentine's Day! Thank you, Mrs. Susan |
