Instructions from eHow.com to use Skydrive:
"1. Log In with your Windows Live I.D, it can be opened up by using the same email address & password that you use to access your Windows Live account. While it is a lot like Hotmail (both sport 5GB of online storage space), Skydrive is simpler to get in and out of when you're searching for a particular file. You don't have to search for a particular email and open the file you need as an attachment, rather you just search for and open the file itself.
2. Choose a folder to add files to. Skydrive is lightweight in design, offering 3 folders for you to upload your files to: 1.) Personal Folders, 2.) Shared Folders & 3.) Public Folders. What this means is that you can post your files privately, by invitation-only with secure file sharing, or you can broadcast your files to the whole world. This is clearly another difference between Skydrive and Windows Live Hotmail.
3. Browse your database to locate your files & upload them to Skydrive folders. Just as with Windows Live Hotmail, Skydrive allows you to browse your computer and upload file after file. However, as soon as you press upload, the file is actively stored in Skydrive's online storage space, whereas with Hotmail the file would only actually be attached to your email when the email itself was sent."

Mr. John ONeill, Site Manager Prior to moving to Las Vegas, most of my IT experience was related to the entertainment industry, in Hollywood. I was the original webmaster for Glen Ballard's Java Records website, as well as Siedah Garrett's official site ( they co-wrote the song "Man in the Mirror" for Michael Jackson). I also did graphic arts work for Hyundai Motor, Speed Channel, CBS, Sony and many other independent film makers and musicians, as well as programming the websites for the band Tonic. I have also constructed a variety of finincial services sites for banks and investors. My passion now is to find ways to help teachers, students and parents communicate online that compliments existing methods. SVMS IT Newsletter There are a wide array of new interactive features that we will be implementing and testing this year for both the website and classrooms. Parents are reminded to provide their email addresses in their contact information, so that they can stay informed of current classroom curriculum and homework assignments. Class media files and homework are hosted on Windows Skydrive. Messenger boxes are preconfigured to only contact the teachers and staff listed on the same web page when they are online. Please let us know if you are interested in either SMS text message updates and/or Bluetooth calendar synchronization for your cell phone. Site suggestions and feedback are always welcome! We support organizations like OpenOffice, GNU and SchoolForge, which advocate the use of open texts and lessons, open curricula, free software and open source in education. Check out their sites for great free software.
